General Fund Levy Renewal: May 2
On May 2, 2017, voters of the City of Bellbrook will be asked to vote on the renewal of an existing 1.3 mill General Fund Levy. This levy was originally approved in 1962 and has been either renewed or replaced every five years since.

How is the Levy Used?  The General Fund Levy generates approximately $210,000 per year and represents over 20% of the General Fund budget.

In addition to certain basic City services, the General Fund provides funding for capital projects throughout the City.  Recent capital projects have included:

- 2016 Annual Street Program – Sugar Run Trail, Shadowleaf Drive, North Linda Drive, North Sheffield Drive, and East Sudbury Court.
- 2015 Annual Street Program – Beryl Drive, Bledsoe Drive, Garry Drive, Washington Mill Road, and West Franklin Street.
- Public Safety Vehicles and Equipment – CPR assistance devices, cardiac monitors, firefighter turnout gear, automatic external defibrillators, computers, radios, etc.
- Stormwater Drainage Projects – Plantation Trail culvert replacement and Marcia Drive culvert repair.

Why is this Levy so Important?  Funding to the City of Bellbrook has been significantly cut by the State of Ohio. The elimination of the Estate Tax, the reduction of the Local Government Funds, and the elimination of other state shared revenue has cost the City over $1,000,000 over the last few years. Without this renewal levy, the City will have to make further cuts to operational costs and capital projects.

How will this Levy Impact Me Financially?  Since this is a renewal levy, there will be no increase in taxes paid. The Renewal will allow the current levy to continue as it was passed in 2012. The City will receive the same amount of revenue as it has for the past five years.

The levy is a renewal 1.3 mill General Fund Levy and will cost the following:

Appraised Value of Property

Current Taxes

Additional Taxes

The appraised value of property is determined by the Greene County Auditor.
