Clerk of Council

September 25, 2018 - The City of Bellbrook is currently accepting applications for the part-time position of Clerk of Council.  This position performs various duties related to assisting the Mayor and City Council, performing the duties of the Clerk of Council as outlined in the City Charter, and miscellaneous clerical functions.  Additional duties include answering incoming telephone calls and greeting and assisting visitors to the Administration office.  This position will average 10 – 15 hours per week with some evening hours.

Requirements include: high school diploma or equivalent, ability to work in a confidential environment, ability to work closely with others in a team environment, and interact well with the public.  Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word.  Knowledge of local government preferred.

Pay rate depends on qualifications.

Fire Department

Firefighter/Paramedic

November 8, 2018 – The City of Bellbrook, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for the
full-time position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Duties include fire prevention, emergency
medical service, hazardous material response, search and rescue, and disaster assistance. The
Bellbrook Fire Department is a combination Fire and EMS department with full-time and
part-time staff. The department serves a community of 7,000 residents from two fire stations.

At the time of application, the applicant must provide copies of the following current
certifications: (1) Firefighter II – State of Ohio, (2) EMT-Paramedic – State of Ohio, (3) Advanced
Cardiac Life Support Provider, (4) Hazardous Materials Operation, (5) CPR card, and (6) NIMS ICS-
100, ICS-200, ICS-800, and IS-700 training certificates, (7) a certificate dated 3/23/17 or
newer from Kettering Sports Medicine or a CPAT certificate, (8) possess and maintain a valid
Ohio driver’s license and be insurable under the city’s vehicle insurance plan, and (9) a high
school diploma or equivalent. Ohio Fire, EMS and/or CPR Instructor certificates are preferred.

Starting pay rate is $20.39 per hour.

be considered. The deadline to apply (or materials postmarked) is December 7, 2018.

The selection process includes: a review of the cover letter, resume, and employment
application. The process may include written/video tests, assessment centers, oral board,
additional interviews and polygraphs. The final candidate will be required to complete a
background investigation. The appointment procedure will be based on the number of
qualified candidates. The Fire Chief may waive certain requirements to ensure an adequate
candidate pool.
