Businesses
Required Permits
To open a business in the City of Bellbrook, a business owner will first have to acquire several permits from both the city and county before opening it's doors.
Zoning Permit
The city zoning code requires certain businesses to be located in dedicated areas of the city.  Portions of the city are zoned for business use.  There are restrictions on what kind of businesses can be operated in the city.  For more information, please contact the City of Bellbrook Planning and Zoning Office at (937) 848-4666 or go to the Zoning page.
Zoning Compliance & Certificate of Occupancy
State building regulations require that businesses locate in buildings that have been approved for their general use.  This protects the business and customers for safety concerns.  Certain buildings are designed for specific uses and may not be compatible with all businesses.  Also, insurance companies may require an occupancy permit prior to insuring the business.  For more information, please contact the City of Bellbrook Planning and Zoning Office at (937) 848-4666 or go to the Zoning page.
Sign Permit
Most businesses depend on effective signage to attract customers.  The city regulates signs, their construction, size and location.  A business is required to have an approved sign permit before installation of a new sign.  For more information, please contact the City of Bellbrook Planning and Zoning Office at (937) 848-4666 or go to the Zoning page.
Home Occupations
Anyone working out of their house is required to submit a Home Occupation Registration Form with the city.  A home occupation is limited in the types and scale of business that can be done in a home.  For more information, please contact the City of Bellbrook Planning and Zoning Office at (937) 848-4666 or go to the Zoning page.
